SubscriberHello everyone,
I’d like to share a tutorial I’ve put together on implementing the AIAD (Algebraic Interfacial Area Density) poly-dispersed CFD model developed by Thomas Höhne, a powerful approach for simulating complex multiphase flows, particularly in nuclear and process engineering applications. This model enhances the accuracy of interfacial area predictions, making it especially useful for flows involving a range of bubble sizes.
In this tutorial, I walk you through the steps needed to implement the AIAD model in ANSYS CFX using CEL expressions and CCL scripting. Whether you're already familiar with Höhne’s work or just starting to explore advanced multiphase modeling, this guide should help bridge the gap between theory and practical application within the CFX environment.
You can find the full tutorial below. Feedback and questions are welcome!

Ansys EmployeeHi SB,
Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial—it sounds like a fantastic resource for anyone diving into advanced multiphase modeling!
Just a quick note: as company employees, we're not allowed to access external links. Hopefully, others in the community can take a look and share their thoughts. Looking forward to hearing more from everyone!
Cheers!Â
