Bolted Connection – Diferent reference/mobile scopes changes the results

      Hello everyone,

I'm a beginner in ANSYS Mechanical studying a bolt splice connection (without bonded contacts).

I'm facing an issue where the results change significantly depending on which scope of the beam is assigned as Reference and which is Mobile. As shown in the attached images, swapping the orientation causes the stress distribution to flip or become asymmetric (top vs. bottom image). This problem is also visible in the Directional Deformation, like shown bellow. I know its not geometry errors, since I made 1/8 of the connection and mirrowed with the 3 planes (X,Y,Z) to make sure it was symmetric.

If there a way to fix this, or maybe make both reference and mobile scopes behave the same, please let me know. Thank you in advance for the replys.

      Best regards, Dinis Cunha
