How do you consider particle size reduction with combustion?

When using the intrinsic model in particle combustion calculation, it is possible to consider particle size reduction with burning. Fluent software will account for the reduction of particle size and this is set through:
1. Define->Materials
2. Material Type: combusting-particle
3. Combustion model: intrinsic-model
4. Burning mode, alpha: specify the value of alpha

Burning Mode, alpha can be in the range of 0 to 1/3, the particle diameter and density will change.
