Resolving Patchy Temperatures at Fluid/Solid Interface in CHT Analysis

CHT results in Fluent calculation show patchy temperatures at the fluid/solid interface. What are some things that can be tried to address this?

One issue with CHT can be that the internally-calculated solid timescale is too large and causes divergence. Switching to the pseudo-transient coupled solver will allow you to set a smaller time scale for the solid and will help to keep temperatures bounded.

Another remedy that may work for highly convoluted CHT surfaces is to set an alternate formulation for wall temperatures.

In the text interface go to:

solve/set/expert

then say yes to the question:
use alternate formulation for wall temperatures? [no]
