In this lesson, we will begin the discussion of mass transport. In this discussion, we do not consider the mechanics or deformation of the solids. Instead, we only consider the transport of a substance through space. We do this by defining concentration, which is the number of particles in a unit volume, and tracking how these numbers change with time.
