This lesson demonstrates a 3D model setup of the electromagnetic brake (EMB) system. This lesson covers the insulating boundary and current excitation assignment in Ansys Maxwell 3D.
This lesson also covers the steps to set up the parametric analysis for the variable “gap” that was previously created. This parametric analysis helps us analyze the effect of varying air gap on force acting on the movable brake plate.
You will also learn how to plot the relevant electromagnetic field quantities. We will plot the magnetic flux density to understand saturation levels in different parts of the EMB.
