Geometry Preparation for Fluid Flow Simulation

The goal of this part is to guide you through crucial steps in extracting a fluid volume for internal flow simulations in Ansys Discovery. Starting by hiding unnecessary bodies, we explore the 'Prepare' tab and use the 'Volume Extract' tool. Learn to select capping faces or edge loops, choose a seed face, and preview the volume with the 'Preview Inside Faces' tool. Address potential errors using tools in the 'Repair' and 'Prepare' tabs, focusing on small gaps. Utilize the 'Detect' tool to identify and rectify issues like clearances and sharp edges. Follow a step-by-step process, beginning with the 'Clearance' tool, to ensure a watertight model is ready for internal flow simulations.
