If the cylinder (or annular ring) consists of magnet segments, the procedure to model this discrete Halbach configuration in Maxwell would be the same as described in the document EM FAQ: Halbach Array in Maxwell. The only difference being that the segments are arranged in a circle (Fig. 1), instead of a line. In order to model the idealized continuous Halbach magnetization pattern in Maxwell, the procedure described in the following can be used.
