The second calculation fails with a license error, but the error message is only visible in the log files.  The workaround is to run the BDC calculation manually.  This can be done by switching to no-hydro mode and running a single step with the initial run crank angle set to the BDC position.  The calculated volume can be found in the thermo.csv file.
