For m=1 we end up solving for 3 time levels which is roughly equivalent to 3 steady-state runs. For m=3 we end up solving for 7 time levels which is roughly equivalent to 7 steady-state runs. That’s why it is important to solve only for the number of modes necessary to get an accurate solution.
