Keep in mind that the supports are being generated based on the angular orientation relative to the base plate to achieve a stable build. So removing these supports without changing the part orientation might produce a build failure.   With this in mind, first consider re-orienting the build part relative to the base plate to eliminate the need for the unwanted supports.
