When dealing with transient multiphase flows with ANSYS Fluent one is confronted with two Courant numbers if the explicit formulation is deployed for the solution of the volume fraction equation. However Global Courant Number [Explicit VOF Criteria] is also displayed during solving in console even if the time step size is set to \u201cFixed\u201d. The questions are now: 1.What is the difference between Global Courant Number and a Courant Number in the dialog box? 2. If we enable variable time stepping method, what is the difference between Global Courant Number [Variable Time Step Criteria] and Global Courant Number [Explicit VOF Criteria]? Please refer to the attached resolution document.<\/p>\n
