For instance, changing to a variable rotation rate for a rotating domain. If the new variable rotation rate is based on another expression that also did not exist in the.res file, this will produce a callback error beause the rotation rate is undefined. . The best practice is to ensure that the .def file and .res file expressions coincide, especially if there is interdependence.  NOTE:  This may involve adding the expressions to the setup that generated the restart .res file and setting them to an initial value that will proice a smooth restart.
