Why does nonlinear adaptive remeshing (NLAD) not resolve a metal plasticity application failing to convergence with element distortion error?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A.  In this particular case, the issue appeared to be that the plastic strain is beyond the last data point of the KINH curve resulting in zero stiffness.  NLAD only makes this worse.  The solution was to switch to BKIN and define a small nonzero tangent modulus for stability.
