Select the body and click the Hex icon to access Materials section. You can also click &#8220;Materials&#8221; button from\u00a0the SImulation toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>2. Select\u00a0&#8220;Other&#8221; material option.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-155625\" src=\"\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/08\/OK-42-1.png\" alt=\" width=\"811\" height=\"532\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. From the materials drop-down list, select &#8220;User Defined Solid&#8221; (or fluid, as applicable).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-155634\" src=\"\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/08\/OK-42-2.png\" alt=\" width=\"830\" height=\"454\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Once selected, the user defined material will get assigned to the selected body. Go to Physics tree and double click the user defined material to access and edit its material properties.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-155639\" src=\"\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/08\/OK-42-3.png\" alt=\" width=\"793\" height=\"351\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5. The edited User Defined Material will appear in the material drop down list as a separate material as shown below (notice the spanner icon located beside its name indicating that its material properties have been edited).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-155641\" src=\"\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/08\/OK-42-4.png\" alt=\" width=\"853\" height=\"469\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0Once you define the new material, go to the Physics tree, then right click on the Material and select &#8220;Rename&#8221;. Y0u can\u00a0now rename the material that you newly created.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-155642\" src=\"\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/08\/OK-42-5.png\" alt=\" width=\"369\" height=\"204\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7. On similar lines, you can also edit the properties of any existing material.
