{"id":159714,"date":"2022-09-26T09:53:31","date_gmt":"2022-09-26T09:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"\/knowledge\/forums\/topic\/firewall-settings-required-to-unblock-ansys-discovery-products\/"},"modified":"2023-08-16T06:32:53","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T06:32:53","slug":"firewall-settings-required-to-unblock-ansys-discovery-products","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/knowledge\/forums\/topic\/firewall-settings-required-to-unblock-ansys-discovery-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Firewall settings required to unblock ANSYS Discovery Products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Issue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While using ANSYS Discovery products an ANSYS Licensing Error is displayed and licensing of the products is being denied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Causes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ANSYS Discovery products need to reach a cloud based license server and the connection requests could be blocked by customer firewall settings.<\/p>\n<p>The following components can be affected when a firewall blocks requests to the licensing server:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Essentials<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Standard<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Ultimate<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Ultimate Geometry Interface Bundle<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Ultimate Geometry Interface Bundle for CATIA<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Essential STL Prep for 3D printing<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery KeyShot HD<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery KeyShot Pro<\/li>\n<li>ANSYS Discovery Algoryx Momentum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your network is protected by a firewall, the\u00a0following exception rules need to be implemented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Firewall Exception Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enable https communication over port 443 (in-going and outgoing) to the server located at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ansys-fno.flexnetoperations.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/ansys-fno.flexnetoperations.com\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Exclude the ansysls_client.exe (subscription handler) process on your company firewall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ANSYS Discovery products licensing requests might also be denied by your antivirus software or by missing user permissions in Windows.
