Through Windows Command prompt, you can execute different commands associated with subscription licensing like activating, deactivating, viewing licenses, etc. Please find below the steps to execute these commands:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Launch\u00a0the Windows Command Prompt from the start menu by typing “cmd”.\u00a0 Right click the Command Prompt application and select Run as Administrator.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In the command prompt, type in:<\/p>\n
For version 2021R1 and later:<\/strong><\/p>\n cd\u00a0C:\\Program Files\\ANSYS Inc\\v211\\licensingclient\\winx64<\/p>\n For older versions:<\/strong><\/p>\n cd C:\\Program Files\\ANSYS Inc\\Shared Files\\Licensing\\winx64<\/p>\n (this is the default installation directory of Discovery products. If you have installed it at a different location, enter the appropriate path where\u00a0ansysls_client.exe is present)<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Once in that directory, run the following commands:<\/p>\n Activate license<\/strong>:<\/p>\n ansysls_client.exe -ActivateLicenseEntitlement < ActivationID ><\/p>\n This command can be used to activate license on your machine. In above command, replace < ActivationID > with your activation id. You can find the activation id in the txt file that you receive or from your Discovery Account page<\/a>\u00a0under Manage Subscriptions section.<\/p>\n Deactivate\u00a0<\/strong>license<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n ansysls_client.exe -DeactivateAllEntitlements<\/p>\n This command deactivates all the active licenses assigned to you. After deactivating licenses, you will be prompted to sign in when you launch any Discovery product. The license can also be deactivated by clicking “Release” button under license details\u00a0from your\u00a0Discovery Account page<\/a>\u00a0under Manage Subscriptions section.<\/p>\n Refresh licenses:<\/strong><\/p>\n ansysls_client.exe -RefreshLicenseEntitlements<\/p>\n This command refreshes license subscriptions\u00a0on that machine. If Discovery products are not launched for more than a month, execute this command to refresh the license.<\/p>\n
