They are created between pairs of nodes. Creating a spot weld connection between three shells means that there will be two spot weld connection definitions for the three nodes – one of the nodes will belong to two spot welds at the same time. Spot welds are however rigid constraints and the system will become over-constrained if a node belongs to more than one spot weld. This is not allowed in Explicit Dynamics and Workbench LS-DYNA.<br \/>Workaround: replace the two spot welds by a remote point involving the three nodes. In case of n shell parts, use a remote point to replace the n-1 spot welds which comprises the n points. Please note that the connection through remote points will not be breakable in contrast to spot weld definitions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-157900","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry","topic-tag-explicit-dynamics","topic-tag-spot-weld-connection"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_wp_page_template":["default"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["06-06-2022 20:20"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27789"],"_btv_view_count":["670"],"_bbp_likes_count":["0"]},"test":"articlesansys-com"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/knowledge\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/157900","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/knowledge\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/knowledge\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/knowledge\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/157900\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/knowledge\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=157900"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
