You can check license supported for particular element in &#8216;Element Reference&#8217; in the ANSYS Help.  Check what licence Mechanical is pulling up, one may have Enterprise licence but some other licences such as EMAG (which may not support the particular element) may be listed as first choice under licence preference which can be a problem.
