Data from simulations using the Dense Discrete Particle Model in Fluent are not forward compatible going from older versions to Fluent 19.2 and later. This due to a change in the number of DPM field variables used by the model. When reading a 19.0 cas and dat into 19.2 you will get an error when reading the dat file indicating “skipping data” as it is of “wrong size”. It is not recommended to use this data even as a starting point to continue iterations.
