This is documented in ANSYS Release Notes 2019 R2. https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v194/ai_lmt/KIL160Mechanical.html “The Nastran Export feature is not supported on Linux. (105619) When launching Mechanical/Meshing you may experience cosmetic UI issues on some Linux platforms. The entries below describe the known issues. The outline tree and ribbon may leave graphics artifacts (such as highlighting and “ghost images”) when working with the application. These do not prevent you from selecting items in the tree. Hovering over the artifacts with the cursor typically removes the artifacts. Editable drop down controls may not allow selection or may show empty lists. You can work-around this issue by manually entering the value in the control. In some cases, the display of buttons and others controls in the ribbon may not refresh correctly. For example, the button highlighting may not change even when the cursor is not on the button or checkboxes may show incorrect states. The display will correct itself once the tab is refreshed. Accessing Font Size options in Report Preview mode throws a script error. Floating the Graphics toolbar or other toolbars will cause the toolbars to become invisible. If this happens you will need to close Mechanical, delete the GraphicsLayout.xml file (located in ~/.mw/Application Data/Ansys/v194/Applets/DSApplet/[locale]) and restart the Mechanical application. If you are missing fonts for the docking pane buttons ‘Menu’, ‘Auto Hide’, ‘Maximize’, and ‘Close’ and you are displaying remotely, you will need to install the fonts on your XWindows display server. Copy the font files found under $INSTALL_DIR/aisol/CommonFiles/Fonts/linx64 locally to your XWindows display server. Use the command “xset fp+ ” on your XWindows display server so your XWindows server can find the font files. The following features have been disabled on the Linux platform for this release Body Views for Connections ViewPorts for graphical display Tooltips”
