      The default setting when importing an STL is to assign units “Automatically”. Refer attached image which shows this option. This leaves some room for interpretation. If you’d like to specify the units, you can do this manually from the File > Open STL menu. You can also define a global setting in File > SpaceClaim Options > File Options > STL
