I have been unable to create a point load at the exact center of the beam (possibly since I'm using SolidWorks to create the object files), but I've gotten it close enough that it appears to be centered. I am using the two ends of the circular beam as fixed ends for the bending test (both this and the force are shown in one of the included pictures). However, my hand calculations do not match the results ANSYS is giving me for the forces I'm applying. I have ensured that the same materials and objects are used in both sets of calculations.

In the attached picture of an Excel file, the fixed-end assumption produces a different stress and about half the displacement that ANSYS does. The simply-supported-end assumption produces a stress that is close to what ANSYS is giving me, but the deflection is about three times higher than what ANSYS gives me. Both my hand calculations in Excel and the ANSYS results are included in the pictures.

["post-52814","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-ansys-mechanical","topic-tag-beam","topic-tag-static-structural
[{"0":
25123
Anonymous
false
publish
& \u0001\u0003?\u0004\u00001\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0004\u0013
normal
0
875
unanswered
publish
52814
27791
185297","186829
2
2
145432
145432
2021-03-08 17:52:00
["GET
