My units are supposed to be in mm & MPa. Something that I noticed is that ANSYS APDL is assuming a unit thickness in my model. For example, if the dimensions of my model are 40×10 mm, I expect to have a long thickness in the normal direction, but ANSYS only considers a unit (1mm) thickness for my model. However, if I do this by Workbench, a long thickness like 1000mm will be considered for my model. I know one solution to overcome this problem is entering my dimensions in a meter like (0.04×0.01) but my preference still is keeping the units in mm and MPa. In fact, my real model includes very small lines that it might be impossible to enter their lengths in the meter. Here I also attached a simple comparison between my results in APDL and Workbench. As you see, results in the plane strain are very different and that is related to unequal thicknesses. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions for this? I also attached the codes for plane strain, plane stress, and 3D model if that helps.

Thank you very much,

Ali

["post-52770","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry
[{"0":
25077
Anonymous
false
publish
h?f?
normal
0
1527
254926
unanswered
publish
52770
27791
180812","185297
2
1
144605
144605
2021-03-03 09:46:41
["GET
