


{"id":49864,"date":"2020-11-15T16:37:29","date_gmt":"2020-11-15T16:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/spaceclaim-combine-enclosure\/"},"modified":"2020-11-15T16:37:29","modified_gmt":"2020-11-15T16:37:29","slug":"spaceclaim-combine-enclosure","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/spaceclaim-combine-enclosure\/","title":{"rendered":"SpaceClaim Combine\/Enclosure"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"Item-Body\">\n<div class=\"Message userContent\">\n<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>I am trying to get a computational domain for a simple airplane geometry.&nbsp;It has a rudder and two control surfaces for the horizontal stabilizer.&nbsp;I have this geometry as four solid bodies under one part.&nbsp;SpaceClaim is not able to get an &ldquo;Enclosure&rdquo; for the entire geometry or able to combine them to a single body.<\/p>\n<p>I checked the integrity of the CAD model using the following steps.<\/p>\n<p>1)\tUsed &ldquo;Check Geometry&rdquo; for the part and the result was &ldquo;No problem found&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>2)\tUsed &ldquo;Stitch&rdquo; &ldquo;Gaps&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Missing face&rdquo; under &ldquo;Repair&rdquo;, and the results for all these were &ldquo;No areas found&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>3)\tUsed &ldquo;Imprint&rdquo; in &ldquo;Prepare&rdquo; and fixed all overlapping faces\/edges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When I created &ldquo;Enclosures&rdquo; under &ldquo;Prepare&rdquo; for individual bodies, SpaceClaim created proper enclosures.&nbsp;However, when I tried to create an &ldquo;Enclosure&rdquo; for all four bodies together, I am getting an error message (see the figure Enclosure.jpg).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I tried to combine two bodies (fuselage and one of the control surfaces), and it also gave me an error message (see the images Combine.jpg and Combine_zoom.jpg).<\/p>\n<p>I also tried these operations using different options for &ldquo;Share Topology&rdquo; and none of them worked.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I appreciate if you could give me any suggestions to fix this issue.&nbsp;I am facing the same issue with a truck geometry, which has many more bodies in the part.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embedExternal embedImage\">\n<div class=\"embedExternal-content\">\n<a class=\"embedImage-link\" href=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/PVG8YVH5UFUS\/enclosure-jpg.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"embedImage-img\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/PVG8YVH5UFUS\/enclosure-jpg.jpg\" alt=\"Enclosure.JPG\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-49864","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Hi,I am trying to get a computational domain for a simple airplane geometry.
