However, I have encountered an issue that I have been unable to resolve.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"361\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"361\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"361\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"361\">My workflow is as follows:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-09-11-at-00.10.02-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"363\" height=\"204\"><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"363\" data-end=\"712\">\n<li data-section-id=\"70nta7\" data-start=\"363\" data-end=\"412\">The motor was initially designed in RMxprt.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1bo7aff\" data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"469\">It was then exported to Maxwell 2D (Transient XY).<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1c6llo5\" data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"621\">When I run the Maxwell 2D model by itself, the simulation works perfectly. The motor accelerates normally and reaches approximately 5000 rpm.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ve4g3x\" data-start=\"622\" data-end=\"712\">The problem only occurs when I connect the model to Twin Builder using the FEA Link.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"762\">On the Twin Builder side, my system consists of:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"841\">\n<li data-section-id=\"154mtfi\" data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"781\">400 V DC supply<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17bvrz5\" data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"804\">Three-phase inverter<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1v551rf\" data-start=\"805\" data-end=\"817\">LCL filter<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1flv9fn\" data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"841\">Maxwell FEA component<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"843\" data-end=\"1123\">The three motor phases (PhaseA, PhaseB, and PhaseC) are connected correctly to the FEA component. For the mechanical side, I connected the MotionSetup ports using a torque meter, speed meter, inertia, and mechanical ground, following the ANSYS examples as closely as possible.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1155\">However, during co-simulation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1247\">\n<li data-section-id=\"4zj1qq\" data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1212\">The motor speed (Omega) always remains 0 rpm.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"l8ey3y\" data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1247\">The rotor never starts rotating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1403\">It is important to note that the exact same Maxwell model works correctly when simulated independently, so the motor model itself appears to be valid.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1405\" data-end=\"1467\">Additionally, I sometimes receive the following error message:<\/p>\n<div class=\"relative w-full mt-4 mb-1\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"contents\">\n<div class=\"relative\">\n<div class=\"h-full min-h-0 min-w-0\">\n<div class=\"h-full min-h-0 min-w-0\">\n<div class=\"border border-token-border-light border-radius-3xl corner-superellipse\/1.1 rounded-3xl\">\n<div class=\"h-full w-full border-radius-3xl bg-(--code-block-surface) corner-superellipse\/1.1 overflow-clip rounded-3xl [--code-block-surface:var(--bg-elevated-secondary)] dark:[--code-block-surface:var(--composer-surface-primary)] lxnfua_clipPathFallback\">\n<div class=\"pointer-events-none absolute end-1.5 top-1 z-2 md:end-2 md:top-1\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"relative\">\n<div class=\"pe-11 pt-3\">\n<div class=\"relative z-0 flex max-w-full\">\n<div id=\"code-block-viewer\" class=\"q9tKkq_viewer cm-editor z-10 light:cm-light dark:cm-light flex h-full w-full flex-col items-stretch \u037cd \u037cr\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"cm-scroller\">\n<pre class=\"cm-content q9tKkq_readonly m-0\"><code>FEA1: failed to find Norton equivalent\n(check for voltage sources directly connected to windings)<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1725\">This error does not always occur. Sometimes the simulation starts without this error, but the rotor still does not rotate and the speed remains zero.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1922\">I also found a similar discussion on the ANSYS forum regarding MotionSetup connections.
