My problem is that Fluent assigns the label “ff” to my fluid region when generating the surface mesh but I need to change that since I am having name clashes downstream in the workflow. I have seen on the internet that one solution (at least in Fluent meshing v15) was to generate a material point with a name so when the regions are automatically generatedm the material point name will be assigned. I have generated a material point named fluid_interior (inside the domain) and this is my workflow before generating the surface mesh:<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/24-07-2026-1784887316-mceclip1.png\" \/><\/p><p>And this right after:<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/24-07-2026-1784887633-mceclip2.png\" \/><\/p><p>As you can see, Fluent ignores the material point name and generates a volumetric region whose name is “ff” which gives me issues later on when assigning BCs and zone types. How can I change this behaviour and assign the region name before its creation? Thank you in advance!<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-461796","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry","topic-tag-fluent-mesh"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_forum_id":["27792"],"_bbp_topic_id":["461796"],"_bbp_subscription":["629869"],"_bbp_author_ip":["2001:861:e1c0:b800:689f:fb60:d1d5:3c3b"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["0"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["461796"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2026-07-24 10:09:04"],"_bbp_reply_count":["0"],"_bbp_reply_count_hidden":["0"],"_bbp_voice_count":["1"],"_bbp_engagement":["629869"],"_btv_view_count":["24"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"]},"test":"cesarj-95plusgmail-com"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/461796","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/461796\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=461796"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
