{"id":458845,"date":"2026-05-26T08:25:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T08:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/hvi-simulation-solid-elements-failing\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T08:25:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T08:25:14","slug":"hvi-simulation-solid-elements-failing","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/hvi-simulation-solid-elements-failing\/","title":{"rendered":"HVI simulation &#8211; solid elements failing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&lt;p&gt;I am running a Hypervelocity Impact simulation of a projectile impacting an assembly built with Constrained nodal rigid bodies and Beam elements to represent the bolts.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When I run the model without setting a Control_termination endtime (so just initialise the model with a velocity applied to the impactor) it will initalise normally and terminate normally.
