The final timestep of the simulation typically shows a physically correct liquid sheet, and the sheet formation and breakup behavior appear reasonable.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;579&#8243; data-end=&#8221;719&#8243;&gt;However, during intermediate timesteps, the &alpha; = 0.5 isosurface often appears highly fragmented and randomly dispersed throughout the domain.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;721&#8243; data-end=&#8221;852&#8243;&gt;I am trying to understand whether this behavior is related to Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) projection or another numerical issue.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;907&#8243; data-end=&#8221;956&#8243;&gt;I am observing the following unexpected behavior:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;ul data-start=&#8221;958&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1080&#8243;&gt;&lt;li data-start=&#8221;958&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1002&#8243;&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;960&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1002&#8243;&gt;Let &lt;strong data-start=&#8221;964&#8243; data-end=&#8221;970&#8243;&gt;x1<\/strong> be the final timestep of a run.&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<p>&lt;li data-start=&#8221;1003&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1080&#8243;&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1005&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1080&#8243;&gt;At timestep x1, the liquid sheet appears correct and physically consistent.&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1082&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1174&#8243;&gt;Now, if I return to the solver and continue running the simulation for a few more timesteps:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;ul data-start=&#8221;1176&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1303&#8243;&gt;&lt;li data-start=&#8221;1176&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1219&#8243;&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1178&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1219&#8243;&gt;Let &lt;strong data-start=&#8221;1182&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1188&#8243;&gt;x2<\/strong> become the new final timestep.&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<p>&lt;li data-start=&#8221;1220&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1303&#8243;&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1222&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1303&#8243;&gt;At timestep x2, the liquid sheet again appears correct and physically consistent.&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1305&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1313&#8243;&gt;However:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;ul data-start=&#8221;1315&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1520&#8243;&gt;&lt;li data-start=&#8221;1315&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1428&#8243;&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1317&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1428&#8243;&gt;When I go and visualize timestep x1 (which previously showed a correct sheet before continuing the run),&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<p>&lt;li data-start=&#8221;1429&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1520&#8243;&gt;&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1431&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1520&#8243;&gt;The &alpha; = 0.5 isosurface at x1 is now highly distorted, fragmented, and randomly dispersed.&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&lt;p data-start=&#8221;1522&#8243; data-end=&#8221;1634&#8243;&gt;In other words, a previously correct timestep becomes visually corrupted after advancing the simulation further.&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-453473","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_forum_id":["27792"],"_bbp_topic_id":["453473"],"_bbp_subscription":["657608","199"],"_bbp_author_ip":["130.94.111.67"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["453531"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["453531"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2026-03-02 09:38:50"],"_bbp_reply_count":["1"],"_bbp_reply_count_hidden":["0"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_engagement":["657608","199"],"_btv_view_count":["47"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_edit_lock":["1772268324:657608"]},"test":"muhammadyaseenkhan171gmail-com"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/453473","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/453473\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=453473"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
