I have watched some tutorial videos with a simple geometry (two metal strips boneded with adhesive) under Mode I fracture.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/06-02-2026-1770405813-Screenshot 2026-02-06 122317.png\" alt=\"\" \/>&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here is what I did.&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>3 Geometry: two metal blocks and a layer of adhesive.<\/li>\n<li>Using &#8216;Commands&#8217;, MAT_138 (renamed) was added.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&lt;p&gt;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/06-02-2026-1770405992-mceclip0.png\" \/>&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3. After meshing, I added PART (Beta) and SECTION_SOLID under LS-DYNA (D5) tree. PART geometry was the adhesive layer selected.
