The experiment consist on a heat flux placed on the bottom face (face whose normal vector has the same direction of -Z) and an air flow going forward on +X direction. The expected result is a conduction through the metal foam and convection between the foam and the air.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/8b359b93-bb13-4fc7-9841-ab520137f681\/4b09de11-ed5b-49d7-bb46-abc901479c3f_mesh-espuma-met&aacute;lica.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/8b359b93-bb13-4fc7-9841-ab520137f681\/5c670415-b59e-453b-8a80-abc90147c58f_mesh-1.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/8b359b93-bb13-4fc7-9841-ab520137f681\/1f6f51c1-74ae-49fd-900e-abc90147e512_detalles-dominio-sin-espuma.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/8b359b93-bb13-4fc7-9841-ab520137f681\/b1f3f44f-3eb4-4a81-b207-abc90147ffad_mesh-section-plane-1.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>i&#8217;m using ANSYS academic version, that&#8217;s the reason the mesh is the way it is.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>i&#8217;m rather confused with the boundary conditions and, maybe, about the named selection i have to set.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I set the following named selection and boundary condition:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li>&#8220;inlet&#8221;: velocity inlet=0,5 m\/s&nbsp;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>&#8220;outlet&#8221;: Pressure outlet, gauge pressure=0<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>&#8220;slippery walls&#8221; (the ones that limit the domain): shear stress= 0 on all the compenents, and a convection condition<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>A worksheet that selects all faces at Z=0: heat flux at 100 W\/m^2<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>the model was&nbsp;<strong>Steady,<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Pressure-Based, Viscous (Realizable k-e), Energy On,&nbsp;<\/strong>the solution method used is&nbsp;<strong>Coupled.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>the simulation was planified to calculate 2000 iterations but it clearly failed so i stopped the calculations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/8b359b93-bb13-4fc7-9841-ab520137f681\/4dc7a592-2dc8-4915-82e0-abc90158d543_gr&aacute;fico-de-residuales.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>i hope you can help me with this or advice me.
