During the simulation, I encountered the following issues:&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>&lt;p class=&#8221;ds-markdown-paragraph&#8221;&gt;The size of the simulation region affects my results. How should I determine the appropriate simulation region size to ensure reliable results?&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<li>&lt;p class=&#8221;ds-markdown-paragraph&#8221;&gt;For photonic crystal device simulations, is it necessary to have an integer number of mesh cells per lattice constant to ensure identical mesh partitioning for each periodic unit?&lt;\/p&gt;<\/li>\n<li>&lt;p class=&#8221;ds-markdown-paragraph&#8221;&gt;The TE mode in slab photonic crystals is defined as having the electric field oscillating parallel to the plane of periodicity and the magnetic field with a component perpendicular to that plane. This seems different from the TE mode definition in waveguides.
