Hi,<\/p>\n

I was hoping someone could help. I am analysing a model created with beam elements in ANSYS Mechanical 2019 R2.<\/p>\n

I am wanting to change how ANSYS is displaying the solution results, they currently look like the image below, with the thickness of the beams being shown:<\/p>\n

I have seen in the following video [https:\/\/youtu.be\/l3naQu46NgI?t=369] (*EDIT: Apologies I did not realise the youtube video would become embedded in the post, the section of interest in the video starts at 6:10 *) (which uses ANSYS R18.1) that the creator of the video goes to ‘view’ in the toolbar and then deselects ‘Thick Shells and Beams’ which removes the thickness of the beams and the results are then displayed simply on a line; this is how I would like my results to be displayed. Please click the youtube link above which starts the video at the appropriate time to see this happen (I was unsure whether I was allowed to post screenshots of other peoples work on this discussion board).<\/p>\n

I believe I have found the equivalent setting in ANSYS 2019 R2, please see the image below, which states that this ‘Displays the thickness of shells and beams when the mesh or RESULTS objects are selected’.<\/p>\n

Toggling this setting on and off does not change how the results of the simulation are displayed, however it I select the mesh for my model and then toggle this setting it does change how the mesh is displayed, see image below:<\/p>\n

I was hoping someone would be able to help in getting this setting to work for changing how the results of the simulation are displayed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. <\/p>\n
