


{"id":41563,"date":"2020-03-06T14:10:15","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T14:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/mesh-control\/"},"modified":"2020-03-06T14:10:15","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T14:10:15","slug":"mesh-control","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/mesh-control\/","title":{"rendered":"Mesh control"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Ansys,<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>while simulating a model in Ansys work bench 19.1 I got an error like this<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Element 2616 (type = 2, SOLID186) (and maybe other elements) has become&nbsp; &nbsp;highly distorted.&nbsp; Excessive distortion of elements is usually a&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; symptom indicating the need for corrective action elsewhere.&nbsp; Try&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;incrementing the load more slowly (increase the number of substeps or&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;decrease the time step size).&nbsp; You may need to improve your mesh to&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;obtain elements with better aspect ratios.&nbsp; Also consider the behavior&nbsp; &nbsp; of materials, contact pairs, and\/or constraint equations.&nbsp; Please rule&nbsp; &nbsp; out other root causes of this failure before attempting rezoning or&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;nonlinear adaptive solutions.&nbsp; If this message appears in the first&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;iteration of first substep, be sure to perform element shape checking.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>but when I changed the mesh size from 0.25 mm to 0.26 mm it worked and i got the result. Why it happening like this.
