{"id":41482,"date":"2020-03-04T15:18:22","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T15:18:22","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/temperature-simulation-starts-malfunctioning-after-some-amount-of-time-scaled-residuals-abnormal\/"},"modified":"2020-03-04T15:18:22","modified_gmt":"2020-03-04T15:18:22","slug":"temperature-simulation-starts-malfunctioning-after-some-amount-of-time-scaled-residuals-abnormal","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/temperature-simulation-starts-malfunctioning-after-some-amount-of-time-scaled-residuals-abnormal\/","title":{"rendered":"Temperature simulation starts malfunctioning after some amount of time, scaled residuals abnormal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Project is a temperature-over-time simulation of a battery pack with user-defined heat generation from the batteries.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Whenever I run the simulation, it runs as I would expect (batteries heating up slowly and the pack around it heating up slower) for about 40 seconds (8 time steps, 5s each) and then it begins displaying an odd message in the TUI: &#8220;temperature limited to 1.0000e00 in __ cells in zone __.&#8221; The cells and zones change as the simulation continues. The scaled residuals graph begins well, with vertical zig-zags that I am accustomed to seeing, but then abruptly becomes a constant upward slope until it hits 1e0, where it levels off.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/e4ca711e-b491-45cd-af8c-ab5900e79fb0\/1c933933-5421-4e05-bed5-ab7400fcafdc_battery-cell-scaled-residuals-(wrong).jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/e4ca711e-b491-45cd-af8c-ab5900e79fb0\/8f1f1498-7200-4136-adaf-ab7400fceba6_battery-cell-tui-(wrong).jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The temperature display is very odd as well.
