I created a tubular frame in SolidWorks where I set the tube diameters and thicknesses as input parameters. So when I imported this into design modeler, I was able to parameter-ize these tube diameter and thicknesses which I used later in an optimisation study.<br \/>\nHowever, three tubes were used as solids in mechanical. I want to simplify the model and use the tubes as beams in mechanical instead of solid geometry. Because this reduces my mesh size and computational time. However I am not sure how to get these tubes as beams. Is there a way to extract beams in DM? I know Space Claim has a feature that can extract the tubes as beams and it works great, however, I cannot figure out how to parameter-ize it in Space claim. I can only extract the tubes in spaceclaim, but cannot figure out how to import those parameters that I decided in SolidWorks into SC. It’s very easy to input these input parameters into DM, but I can’t extract beams in DM (or is there a way to do so?). Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-40687","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_old_topic_id":["12867"],"_bbp_old_topic_author_name_id":["Anonymous"],"_bbp_old_is_topic_anonymous_id":["false"],"_bbp_old_closed_status_id":["publish"],"_bbp_author_ip":[null],"_bbp_old_sticky_status_id":["normal"],"_bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_btv_view_count":["2343"],"_bbp_subscription":["242005"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_status":["publish"],"_bbp_topic_id":["40687"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27789"],"_bbp_engagement":["240","167538"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["4"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["104796"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["104796"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2020-02-09 11:04:47"]},"test":"rzilla"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/40687","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/40687\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=40687"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
