{"id":403866,"date":"2025-01-07T09:56:20","date_gmt":"2025-01-07T09:56:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/named-selections-scripting-and-modification-of-holes-position-on-a-plate-reg\/"},"modified":"2025-01-07T09:56:20","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T09:56:20","slug":"named-selections-scripting-and-modification-of-holes-position-on-a-plate-reg","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/named-selections-scripting-and-modification-of-holes-position-on-a-plate-reg\/","title":{"rendered":"Named selections, scripting and modification of holes position on a plate: reg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&lt;p&gt;Hello All,&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Requirements :&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have to attach a point mass with these 4 points as interface.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I want to <strong>move the 4 holes as<\/strong> per my requirements <strong>using scripting<\/strong> and want to <strong>associate the point mass with these 4 holes<\/strong>.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I want to<strong> move these 4 holes<\/strong> and want to<strong> change the relative distance<\/strong> between them using scripting.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have gone through some videos, but it has been confusing.&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Some suggest to go with<strong> named selection<\/strong>, some with <strong>parametrization<\/strong>, and <strong>some with scripting<\/strong>.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I assume scripting will be better if i want to scale this kind of problem, where i have any number of point masses and interfaces.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I am <strong>new to ansys scripting<\/strong>.
