{"id":40177,"date":"2020-01-15T18:15:02","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T18:15:02","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/topic\/cannot-use-the-surfaces-from-sketches-in-design-modeler\/"},"modified":"2020-01-15T18:15:02","modified_gmt":"2020-01-15T18:15:02","slug":"cannot-use-the-surfaces-from-sketches-in-design-modeler","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/cannot-use-the-surfaces-from-sketches-in-design-modeler\/","title":{"rendered":"Cannot use the surfaces from sketches in design modeler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I am studying the flow around a rigid tire.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>When I keep a gap between the tire and the pavement, I can create a surface using the sketch as below in design modeler.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/19058fb3-0861-42e6-9e24-ab3a0148cca9\/0ec2d074-cca6-40c4-8ccd-ab43012c041a_1.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>But when there is no gap in between the tire and the pavement, I cannot create this surface.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Error comes saying &#8216;Intersecting profiles are not allowed for 3D features&#8217; and &#8216;Invalid feature data -&gt; no closed profiles&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/19058fb3-0861-42e6-9e24-ab3a0148cca9\/9fcb7a94-4269-4ffd-b46b-ab43012c6722_2.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I really need to study the case where there is no gap between the tire and pavement. How can I do this?
