The parameter that is used to construct&nbsp; the elliptical disk is a = 5cm, b = 2.5 cm&nbsp; and c = 0.1mm.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The elliptical disk is constructed using Solidwork software and imported to APDL in IGES format. The element type is set as MESH 200 and the type of mesh is set as 4 node tetra since volume mesh is required. However, the mesh is unable to be generated. Initially, the element edge length is set as 0.0001 for the above parameter and the warning is shown as in the figure below.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/4679c38b-76b1-4fb0-ac91-ab340055f707\/44e8cd62-b182-4ab3-949b-ab3400724661_image1.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the parameter was changed to c = 0.5 cm (the thickness is increased). The other parameters remain the same. However, there is a warning generated as shown in figure below.&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/4679c38b-76b1-4fb0-ac91-ab340055f707\/3688ed99-eb9c-4d75-8028-ab340072be9c_image2.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Thus, I tried with 250 no. of element divisions for the mesh value. And the error is shown as<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/4679c38b-76b1-4fb0-ac91-ab340055f707\/d7bebb83-f9cb-4c97-9e1d-ab3400732ef9_image3.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The no. of element division is further reduced to 100. And the result displayed in this form (figure below)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/4679c38b-76b1-4fb0-ac91-ab340055f707\/aa306c73-ccbb-45a5-9688-ab340073de6e_image4.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>My question is how to generate a correct mesh for elliptical disk? Which parameter (a,b,c) has to be considered to set a correct value of mesh? Is there any formula that needed to be applied to generate a correct mesh for elliptical disk? And how to contact ANSYS support person to solve this issue?
