Workpiece dimensions are 10*4*3 mm and tool has 5 deg rake and clearance angle. I have made both tool and workpiece flexible with lagrangian approach. Tool and workpiece materials and its properties are taken from a science article. Mesh was body sized with element size of 0.1mm.tool and workpiece is modeled in solidworks with fixing depth of cut to 1mm<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In explicit settings:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>fixed support- 2 faces of workpiece of other side (bottom and left side face)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>displacement- displacement was given to tool (8mm) towards the workpiece and keeping the workpiece stationary.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>analysis settings &#8211; end time is given as 0.001 sec<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The problem i face here is that it says the time step is too small so the result is not obtained.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>i wanted to calculate the stress and temperature from this simulation<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>can someone please help me with this (i have attached some of the screen shots)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>i coudnt capture the error message but it says (&#8216;Time step is too small&#8217;)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>i have also included friction co-efficient of 0.2<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-39699","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_old_topic_id":["11878"],"_bbp_old_topic_author_name_id":["Anonymous"],"_bbp_old_is_topic_anonymous_id":["false"],"_bbp_old_closed_status_id":["publish"],"_bbp_author_ip":[null],"_bbp_old_sticky_status_id":["normal"],"_bbp_likes_count":["0"],"_btv_view_count":["9739"],"_bbp_subscription":["245939"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_status":["publish"],"_bbp_topic_id":["39699"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27791"],"_bbp_engagement":["240","171602","177023"],"_bbp_voice_count":["3"],"_bbp_reply_count":["26"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["114096"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["114096"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2020-05-11 06:44:31"]},"test":"agathiyansusilr"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/39699","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/39699\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=39699"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
