Can I achieve this without creating additional geometry?<\/p><p>The cylinder represents a simple cantilever design, with one end fixed and the other end forced downward. Currently, I am using a Remote Force with a small pinball region, so the force is applied nearly at a single point on the cylinder’s edge. However, I don’t think this is an ideal approach since the number of nodes affected by the force increases as the force magnitude grows (especially in the case of a very thin cylinder).<\/p><p>Ideally, I’d like to simulate this as if a purple rectangular block is pushing down on the cylinder—without actually creating that rectangular geometry.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/07-11-2024-1730971529-mceclip0.png\" \/><\/p><p> <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-393132","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_author_ip":["82.134.25.162"],"_btv_view_count":["171"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_subscription":["58821","270444","59239"],"_bbp_topic_id":["393132"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27791"],"_bbp_engagement":["58821","59239","270444"],"_bbp_voice_count":["3"],"_bbp_reply_count":["3"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["393184"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["393184"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2024-11-07 13:32:11"]},"test":"sergey-zhmaevtco-no"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/393132","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/393132\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=393132"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
