This is the system before any coordinate breaks:<\/p>
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/04-11-2024-1730687464-mceclip0.png\" width=\"845\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>
I want to have the beam collimated before the paraxial lens and then converge\/diverge afterwards. This requires a rotation of the cylindrical lens. However, rotating the lens doesn’t affect the beam, and instead affects the subsequent surfaces. This:<\/p>
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/04-11-2024-1730687619-mceclip1.png\" width=\"689\" height=\"409\" \/><\/p>
Results in this:<\/p>
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/04-11-2024-1730687668-mceclip2.png\" width=\"926\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>
Where you can see that the final surface has changed while the beam shape has not. Am I doing something wrong with the tilt? The coordiante break is setup to have 90 degree tilt in z and -90 tilt afterwards.<\/p>
<\/p><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-392516","topic","type-topic","status-answered","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_subscription":["476679","50911","473055"],"_bbp_author_ip":["2605:880:30:1::2db"],"_btv_view_count":["549"],"_bbp_topic_status":["answered"],"_edit_last":["476679"],"_edit_lock":["1736290923:473055"],"_bbp_topic_id":["392516"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27816"],"_bbp_engagement":["50911","476679","473055"],"_bbp_voice_count":["3"],"_bbp_reply_count":["9"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["404100"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["404100"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2025-01-08 12:35:15"],"_bbp_notification_enabled":["473055"]},"test":"mcamp1umd-edu"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/392516","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/392516\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":404117,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/392516\/revisions\/404117"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=392516"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
