The condensation layer on the wall creates an obstruction that should increase the pressure drop, but the <strong>Lee and Mixture model<\/strong> I&rsquo;m using doesn&rsquo;t seem to capture this effect adequately.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In my simulation:&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&rsquo;m modeling humid air condensing on a cooled wall, which obstructs the airflow path and should increase the static pressure drop.<\/li>\n<li>Experimental data shows a pressure drop of <strong>80 Pa<\/strong> on the condensate-forming side, but I&rsquo;m only achieving a <strong>30 Pa<\/strong> drop in the model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&lt;p&gt;I&rsquo;ve tried adjusting:&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Wall friction coefficient<\/strong> and <strong>friction height<\/strong> &ndash; While this does increase the pressure drop slightly (from 30 Pa to 50 Pa), it&rsquo;s still significantly lower than my experimental results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&lt;p&gt;I also attempted the <strong>Euler-Euler model<\/strong> (which includes liquid momentum equations) to see if it would better account for the condensate&rsquo;s impact, but the results didn&rsquo;t vary much from the Mixture model.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&rsquo;m looking for suggestions on how to better capture the increased pressure drop due to wall condensation, or any strategies to get the model to account for the condensate blocking the airflow path.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<strong>Questions<\/strong>:&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Is there a way to explicitly model the condensate layer&rsquo;s impact on pressure drop<\/strong> without switching to a full Eulerian multiphase model?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Are there additional parameters or customizations<\/strong> within the Mixture or Lee models that could simulate this increased blockage effect?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&lt;p&gt;Thank you in advance for any insights!&lt;\/p&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-392501","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry","topic-tag-condensation","topic-tag-condensation-of-vapour-1","topic-tag-lee-model-1","topic-tag-mixture","topic-tag-moisture","topic-tag-multi-species-1","topic-tag-static-pressure"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_subscription":["348736","199"],"_bbp_author_ip":["139.80.239.166"],"_btv_view_count":["468"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_topic_id":["392501"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27792"],"_bbp_engagement":["199","348736"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["3"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["393813"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["393813"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2024-11-12 14:09:48"]},"test":"hurch346student-otago-ac-nz"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/392501","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/392501\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=392501"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
