Forces and moments are applied at the top and the bottom end is fixed.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/27-10-2024-1730025508-Capture1.PNG\" alt=\"\" \/>&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When I displayed the Von Mises stress using &lt;span style=&#8221;text-decoration: underline;&#8221;&gt;<strong>Elemental Mean<\/strong>&lt;\/span&gt; for Top\/Bottom surface, the maximum stress of 172.13 MPa is lower than the stress if taken for TOP surface only (255.16 MPa). My understanding is Top\/Bottom should display the maximum between the 2 surfaces. For Nodal Average Top\/Bottom, it is dislaying the maximum of the 2 surfaces. May I know the reason for this?
