I am working on creating a fully-hex mesh for the below geometry. The simulation is predicting the flow through the pores in the geometry, so the green surfaces are walls and the vacant space is where the mesh must go. THe flow comes from the left-side of the image and flows out of the 5 perforated plates. I have originally meshed it with tets, but I feel the geometry can be meshed in ICEM with a hex mesh to have better control over the amount of cells in each pore. <\/p><p>My question is what is a good workflow to mesh the pores without creating too many unecessary splits and spending hours associating the edges to the pores’ curves? I have thought of creating the blocking for one pore and copying it to the other pores, but I am not sure how I would connect these smaller blocks to a larger block for the inside and outside surfaces of the geometry.<\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/03-10-2024-1727964264-mceclip0.png\" width=\"610\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p><p>Thanks!<\/p><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-387994","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry","topic-tag-hexa-mesh","topic-tag-icem-cfd-mesh-1","topic-tag-icem-cfd-structured-mesh"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"custom_fields":[{"0":{"_bbp_author_ip":["98.239.138.115"],"_btv_view_count":["180"],"_bbp_topic_status":["unanswered"],"_bbp_subscription":["240657","199"],"_edit_last":["240657"],"_bbp_revision_log":["a:1:{i:387995;a:2:{s:6:\"author\";i:240657;s:6:\"reason\";s:17:\"Added information\";}}"],"_bbp_topic_id":["387994"],"_bbp_forum_id":["27790"],"_bbp_engagement":["199","240657"],"_bbp_voice_count":["2"],"_bbp_reply_count":["5"],"_bbp_last_reply_id":["388179"],"_bbp_last_active_id":["388179"],"_bbp_last_active_time":["2024-10-04 13:12:21"]},"test":"nobrienandrew-cmu-edu"}],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/387994","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/387994\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":387995,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/387994\/revisions\/387995"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=387994"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
