The stresses have to be verified under two conditions, one is normal loading and the other one is tangential loading. Dimensions of the cylinder do not matter and the material to be used will be steel (AISI 52100).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/ab33bc5d-b7fa-46f4-a438-aad800d279d0\/3ab6e7d7-2c45-4b98-9be3-aadf017eebb8_cylindrical-contact.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\" width=\"162\" height=\"242\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>We can simplify the problem to a 2D setting, so we can consider something like this:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/ab33bc5d-b7fa-46f4-a438-aad800d279d0\/5ad622dd-83f0-4a53-9f14-aadf01810745_setup.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Sadly, I have no idea on how to start this problem.
