I did a conjugate analysis where I combined solid (picture 1) and fluid (picture 2) domains, inputted the properties for each and obtained a temperature distribution.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/635b8352-81f2-4daf-bb2f-aa7d01546cc2\/f6508664-23a6-4e1b-b441-aada016241c2_q3.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I am interested in solving for the heat flux in the vicinity of a pin (yellow circle on picture 2) and also near the base of the fin (picture 3)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/635b8352-81f2-4daf-bb2f-aa7d01546cc2\/17efd6f7-a7af-4406-8934-aada01625755_q1.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/635b8352-81f2-4daf-bb2f-aa7d01546cc2\/33b2d189-ec52-4e5a-9dda-aada0162824c_q2.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I tried using the iso-surface feature and then clipping it but I got a few problems: the total heat flux area-averaged was lower than I expected so I outputted the data (x,y,z, flux) and it turned out the flux was zero in several locations.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/635b8352-81f2-4daf-bb2f-aa7d01546cc2\/61fe1eda-9e9f-4b58-8dbe-aadd0004362b_w1.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/635b8352-81f2-4daf-bb2f-aa7d01546cc2\/122135a0-aa39-4abd-b843-aadd00061c15_w3.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>So I used the wall itself (shell around the fluid body) to output the flux.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Also, when I was trying to get an average wall temperature, the area average gave me something that was not realistic: I changed the range of the temperature close the entrance to have an idea of what the temperature profile looked like:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/635b8352-81f2-4daf-bb2f-aa7d01546cc2\/3e4d1ba3-dd5d-45c1-8f36-aadd0004d175_w2.jpg?width=690&amp;upscale=false\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>But the area average calculated was 774K.
