I constructed the geometry in spaceclaim, using dimensions given in the paper and carried out a mesh refinement study by measuring the torque when the rotor is stationary.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/962356326bd2741ff33d27e42eafcbaf.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/76d599e33b60949ab6a156e15374b3b3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/42c164be3a7b5cec5aaeb4717c220db7.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>As well as this, I tried to make sure that the y+ values at the walls of the rotor blades were &lt;1.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/02dfff390409a7904b8e115854d79723.jpg\" width=\"468\" height=\"265\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/e2cc3ab3a4f44b15d5006811206ff4a3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Using the sliding mesh approach I would change the rotational speed of the rotor and measure the torque to obtain the Torque coefficient and finally the Power coefficient to construct a power curve.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/3468db9bd275d4d34ddaa8c207e304af.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/c4ea7c6d0cbc221859a774db5ef8298b.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>The following input was used in set-up:<br \/>1. Turbulence model: Transition SST (4 eqn)<br \/>2. Fluid used: Air (1.225 kg\/m3)<br \/>3. Velocity inlet: x-component = 7m\/s, y-component = 0 m\/s<br \/>4. Solution method used: SIMPLE with spatial discretization gradient set to least Square cells based, and all other parameters set to second order.<br \/>5. Reference values are computed from the inlet.<br \/>6. Torque was measured from both blades at the centre of rotation of the rotating domain.<br \/>7. Hybrid initialization was used.<br \/>8. The time step size was found using the CFL criterion \u2206t&le; \u2206x\/v, where the number of time steps was adjusted at different rotor speeds whilst keeping the time step size constant.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/community\/wp-content\/uploads\/peepso-3\/users\/397415\/photos\/4e805da9e74ecffe51774f592ab13b83.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>My Ansys data is extremely underpredicting the experimental data. Could anyone please give me some advice as to what might be going wrong?
