The bottom ends of the beams are unconstrained, except the split beams (see picture below) have their nodes coupled with each other to simulate linear periodicity.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/07\/17-07-2024-1721202396-mceclip0.png\" width=\"562\" height=\"451\"><\/p>\n<p>Between the beams frictional contacts are set, also between beams and casing frictional contacts are set.<\/p>\n<p>For the first row the simulation kind of works (penetration is a little high, but I can adapt the contact stiffness).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/07\/17-07-2024-1721202535-mceclip1.png\" width=\"295\" height=\"358\"> &nbsp; &nbsp; <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/07\/17-07-2024-1721202586-mceclip2.png\" width=\"452\" height=\"350\"><\/p>\n<p>But after this point the simulation fails to converge further supsteps, eventough the solution output states that force, moment and displacement criteria are met during iterations:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/07\/17-07-2024-1721203028-mceclip3.png\"><\/p>\n<p>In earlier supsteps the solution stops and moves on to the next substep.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What could be the problem here? Are there other criteria I should look at?
