{"id":372206,"date":"2024-07-16T19:42:43","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T19:42:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/hfss-with-nvidia-a100-gpu-setup-suggestions-pls\/"},"modified":"2024-07-16T19:42:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T19:42:43","slug":"hfss-with-nvidia-a100-gpu-setup-suggestions-pls","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/topic\/hfss-with-nvidia-a100-gpu-setup-suggestions-pls\/","title":{"rendered":"HFSS with Nvidia A100 GPU setup suggestions pls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I would like to test our EBG antenna array Ansys HFSS simulation models on a strong VM with Nvida A100 80GB, in order to understand how this strong GPU card could help in improving the speed of our simulations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have seen Ansys blog advertising that GPU could help improve the HFSS simulation speed by up 2x, but I could not find more detailed benchmarking, and as I understand the speed improvement also depends a lot on a paritcular simulation model and solvers used.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Before large investment in the actual physical computing hardware like A100 GPU, we would like to try this test using Cloud computing such as MS Azure.&nbsp; Perhaps, <span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">Standard_NC24ads_A100_v4 (with 1 GPU, 24 vCPU, 220 GB RAM) or Standard_NC96ads_A100_v4 (with 4 GPU, 96 vCPU, 880 GB RAM). &nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Where could I find more information on optimum\/recomended VM setup configuration, to install and run Ansys Electronic Desktop\/HFSS with A100 GPU?<\/p>\n<p>Also, I noticed that there are some preconfigured OS images for Ansys 18.2 Fluids, however, I could not find anything for Ansys Electronic Desktop\/HFSS.<\/p>\n<p>Any recommendations or software setup instructions to make the complete configuration with A100 GPU easier?<\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much, Robert.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-372206","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"I would like to test our EBG antenna array Ansys HFSS simulation models on a strong VM with Nvida A100 80GB, in order to understand how this strong GPU card could help in improving the speed of our simulations.
